Reasons why we think we don’t hear God?
Wrong Expectation #1 We expect an audible voice
Nehemiah 2:12 I set out during the night with a few others. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 7:5 So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families.
Pay attention to the thoughts of goodness
James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Wrong expectation #2 Listening is only for direction
Be ready to listen to what God wants to talk about
Eph. 3:18-19 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Wrong expectation #3 only super spiritual heard God
Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
